Job Description

Livestock Business Development Manager

This is a varied role comprising a large sales element.  You will join the Business Development team to bring new farms to the Breedr platform to buy, sell and manage their livestock and to increase utilisation of the app by current Breedr farms.  You will work directly with farmers to improve farm productivity through the adoption of the Breedr platform assisting farmers with livestock pricing and use of the Breedr app as well as coordinating logistics where required.  This is an exciting, forward looking role at the centre of an Agtech startup which is helping to transform the future of UK livestock farming.

Key Functions

What You’ll be Doing

You’ll be part of an established trading team, to:

  • Grow livestock trading volume via the Breedr app
  • Generate revenue across Breedr’s Livestock Management, Marketplace and Finance solutions 
  • Physically visit and remotely contact farms to introduce the Breedr platform and help them to use the Breedr app 
  • Develop long term relationships with new and existing farmers to facilitate them using the Breedr platform for farm management and livestock trading 
  • Identify farmer needs and translate them into business and development opportunities
  • Educate farmers of the benefit of technology and data in their business
  • Liaise with team members regularly to put trades together and attend wider company meetings when required
  • Collate farmer feedback of the Breedr app and feed back to the product and development teams 

Requirements 

You must be an ambitious self starter with drive and enthusiasm and be able to demonstrate the following key skills:

  • Proven sales experience. A knowledge of agriculture and the livestock industry would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels and ability to build up strong relationships
  • Organisational skills to establish and manage own sales pipeline
  • Computer literate and believer of the benefit of technology in farming
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle
