Seek Advice on your Agritech Business at the Three Counties Farming Conference

The Farm491 team are looking forward to delivering one of the workshops at this year’s Three Counties Farming Conference, taking place on the 17th November.

The workshops are a new feature to the Conference and provide an opportunity for delegates to meet with agricultural advisors and experts to discuss issues before the evening debate. The workshops begin at 2pm – with Farm491 taking to the stage at 3.35pm. Angela Simkins and the team will be advising innovators on how they can grow their own business by applying technology to agriculture.

At 4pm the Nuffield Scholar presentations begin before the evening conference commences at 6pm. BBC reporter and presenter, Tom Heap, will chair the evening debate on the topic: Feeding Britain and the World – Is GM the Answer? A fantastic line up of speakers will put forward their opinions throughout the evening – including Graham Brookes, PG Economics Ltd, Helen Ferrier, NFU, Chief Science and Regulatory Affairs Advisor, Mark Lynas, former Anti GMO Activist and Professor Denis Murphy, University of South Wales. With a diverse range of speakers and viewpoints to be aired it is set to be a lively and thought provoking discussion.

Angela Simkins, Farm491 Centre Director, says; “Science and technology is helping to shape the agricultural industry. The UK has traditionally been a leader in agricultural science and is developing new approaches to food and farming systems through agricultural research. Our members at Farm491 are at the centre of innovation – from farm machinery trading platforms, to drone technology, digital land management tools to equine tracking devices; Farm491 is supporting innovations that will be fundamental to the sustainability and progression of British agriculture.

We’re thoroughly looking forward to meeting delegates at The Three Counties Farming Conference and will be on hand to offer practical advice on starting up an agritech business and explaining the channels we can offer to help that business grow.”
